3 people arrested in anti-gang operation to capture guns, bomb parts and ammunition


Anti-triad police struck a blow against organized crime last week, seizing a cache of firearms and weapon parts in raids across the city.

The dragnet – which has so far led to three arrests – included 19 guns, thousands of cartridges, and gun and bomb manufacturing partswrote Apple Daily.

According to daily titlethe the operation continued after customs learned that gun parts could be sent to the city.

Most of the weapons and bullets seized were discovered in a house in Sai Kung during a raid last Thursday, police revealed this weekendaccording to HK01.

There, officers recovered 19 firearms, 2,000 rounds of ammunition and bomb parts, including two detonators and a fuse.

The website reports that weapons seized from the scene included a Glock 17 handgun that had a few tweaks, including a torch and a laser sight.

Police arrested a 70-year-old man surnamed Lau at the scenewho is expected to appear in Kwun Tong Magistrate’s Court today, according to on.cc.

The raid followed an operation on Wednesday in which officers ran into a mini storage unit in Tsuen Wan. There they found 108 pieces of guns.

A 33-year-old man named Chan was also arrested and charged with possession of firearms and ammunition without a license.

A third raid on Saturday uncovered 10 cartridges in an apartment in the western district. This operation saw a 39-year-old man named Yuen arrested at the scene, although the suspect was later released on bail.
