Apex Legends Firearms Statistics

Damage Per Second (DPS)

As the name suggests, damage per second is the damage each weapon can deal in the span of one second. While having a high DPS isn’t crucial for a gun’s skill – many weapons have low DPS but can deal high damage each turn – being able to hold the trigger down and not align each shot has its advantages. Firearms with a high DPS are generally not as powerful as some of their peers, but are more useful for those looking to ‘spray and pray’.

Body damage is the amount of damage inflicted by a single shot of each weapon to a player’s body. Players can acquire body armor that can grant them up to 100 shields, in addition to the 100 HP they have at the start of each game. This means that the best weapons are able to reduce those 200 HP more easily than the others.

Head damage

Head damage is the damage inflicted by each weapon in a single headshot. With many weapons in Apex Legends, headshots do double damage. However, some weapons do much less. As such, it’s worth weighing your options before trying to pull off the perfect headshot on a rival like the Alternator, which only does 6 HP of extra damage when aimed for the head.

Magazine size

The size of your magazine determines how many bullets can be fired before needing to reload. Ammunition is not really abundant in Apex Legends, you have to search for ammo in order to keep your guns.

Apex Legends assault rifle stats

Assault rifles provide a healthy balance between damage dealt and rate of fire. While they are certainly not the most powerful weapons, they can deal consistent damage over an extended period of time. The Hemlock packs the biggest punch of the trio, while the Flatline is a well-rounded pistol for the newcomer.

Apex Legends gun stats

Guns are reliable but don’t have to be that powerful. The Wingman is useful in a pinch, but the low magazine capacity coupled with relatively low damage means most players will want to get their hands on a different weapon. However, if you can hit the majority of your shots, pistols can quickly reduce an enemy’s HP.
