Kurt Angle thinks Chad Gable is held back because of his height

One thing WWE has never really been good at willingly is pushing talent that isn’t the giants Vince McMahon used to help build WWE to the power it was in the 1980s.

It took the trial of steroids and prior attention for Vince to focus on the Shawn Michaels and Bret Harts and the in-ring performances improved in that it wasn’t just giants pounding each other each other.

Typically, according to the many reports and opinions circulating, when an undersized artist received a boost, it was either due to popularity or as a reward.

Jim Cornette talked about the difference in a recent podcast where he focused on diversity being necessary to keep a product fresh and engaging, but Vince would still buy into the bodybuilder types.

WWE have shown their ability to change over time, but right now they have phenomenal talent in Chad Gable who could take the next step if he works on his mic skills, but he seems to be treading water.

The WWE legend weighs in

Kurt Angle recently took part in a Q&A where he talked about how Gable could be restrained in relation to his height.

He also pointed out how much smaller AJ Styles is, but he’s had success with WWE and TNA/Impact Wrestling and that Gable will be if he gets a legit chance.

During a recent Q&A session, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle suggested that Chad Gable didn’t get enough opportunities in WWE due to his height. He said: “Chad is always underestimated. This poor kid, because he’s too small, he didn’t have much luck as he should. And I really believe that if they gave him that chance, he would be another great athlete like AJ Styles. AJ was undersized too, and I think Chad Gable would have the same effect.

Gable is a former Olympian like Angle, and Angle also talked about how Gable could beat any of the wrestlers in a real fight.

“You know, in real life he could punch any of these wrestlers. So, you know, he’s a real bada**. Not getting him to go to the main event level where he deserves to be blows my mind. Because he is very talented, great technical wrestler, former Olympian, you can’t ask for anything more than that.

Angle made some great points, and considering Gable has been with WWE for nine years and had fans chanting his name in NXT when Triple H booked him, gives Angle’s opinion more credence. .

We’d like to see Gable get a good push and see what he can do. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
