At SHOT Show 2022, Stoeger introduced a full-size 9mm model to the STR-9 series. Called the STR-9F, this new semi-automatic is aimed at shooters who favor the handling characteristics of a larger frame handgun, along with a larger cartridge capacity. Priced at an attractive $329, this polymer percussion pistol is a bargain.
The total weight of the Stoeger STR-9F 9mm pistol is 26.4 ounces (17+1 model shown here).
The STR-9F sits on the shoulders of the original STR-9 mid-size pistol, which Stoeger describes as “an all-business defensive pistol renowned for its high-impact performance and surprisingly low price.”
The new percussion STR-9F has an overall length of 7.95 inches and a barrel length of 4.68 inches. An extended sight radius, combined with the STR-9F’s precision barrel and nitride-treated machined slide assembly should provide good accuracy for the price.
Additional features include an integrated accessory rail, tactile loaded chamber indicator located on top of the slide, and white three-dot sights.
As for ergonomics, the STR-9F’s contoured handle with finger grooves and aggressive stippling patches provides a comfortable grip. Ambidextrous thumb index finger recesses and left or right magazine release positioning provide a high level of control for both right and left handed users. Sturdy serrations are also present on the front and back of the slide.
The power supply for the STR-9F (#31752) is a double stack 17 round magazine. The STR-9F is also available with a 10-round magazine (#31762) for state specific compliance.
The MSRP for the 17+1 and 10+1 STR-9F 9mm models is $329. Learn more about stoegerindustries.com.
