Police ID man killed outside Jefferson Heights home where 75 casings were found

The Bexar County medical examiner Monday identified the man who was fatally shot outside an east side home early last Friday as 66-year-old Clarence Jones.

Officials said Jones died of multiple gunshot wounds and his cause of death was listed as homicide.


A man was killed and a woman was hospitalized following a shooting outside an East Side home early Friday morning, San Antonio police said.

Police responded to reports of a shooting in the Belmont Place and Gevers Street area of ​​the Jefferson Heights neighborhood around 1:45 a.m. and found a still-running vehicle with multiple bullet holes parked in it. aisle.

Inside, police found a 66-year-old man in the driver’s seat with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police at the scene said a 52-year-old woman sitting in the passenger seat was also shot multiple times and taken to hospital. It is not known where she was found and her condition is unknown.

Officials said 75 casings were found on the street and around the house.

An 18-year-old man who had been hit in the hip by a bullet later presented to hospital. He told police he was walking on Polaris Street in the scene area when he was shot by an unknown suspect.

Police did not specify the connection between the two shootings.

Several subjects were in the backyard of the house and were questioned. No charges have been filed.
