What is Rainbow Six mining?

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction is Ubisoft’s latest tactical shooter, building on previous success with its competitive multiplayer title, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. Extraction is inspired by Operation Chimera and its Outbreak event, a limited-time mode introduced in Rainbow Six Siege that focuses on three-player co-op missions. This 2018 mode spurred the development of a full-fledged spin-off, formerly billed as Rainbow Six Quarantine, later named Rainbow Six Extraction.

Rainbow Six Extraction takes players on a mission across the United States during the spread of a mysterious alien parasite. The outbreak results in aliens known as Archaeans, taking shape in various hostile forms, with Team Rainbow being deployed to neutralize the threat. The game features 18 returning operators from Rainbow Six Siege, some with the same weapons and gadgets, others changing gear to battle alien forms.

Missions take place in New Mexico, New York, San Francisco, and Alaska, battling alien forces and completing various objectives. The game adopts challenging mechanics centered around the same tactical elements that defined Rainbow Six Siege, emphasizing the use of gadgets and destructive environments. The game allows players to earn a host of cosmetics while playing the game, with a few rewards available between Extraction and Siege.

While Ubisoft unveiled Rainbow Six Extraction as a $60 experience, the publisher has since reduced its launch price to $40 across all platforms. The title also includes free co-op passes to share the game with friends, with access for all Xbox Game Pass subscribers, on Xbox consoles and Windows PCs.
