The Russian invaders shelled a column of civilians evacuated from Hostomel, killing one woman and injuring another.
The relevant statement was made by the National Police of Ukraine in the Kyiv region on Facebook, reports a correspondent of Ukrinform.
On March 14, 2022, in cooperation with local self-government authorities, the Bucha District Police Department helped evacuate 500 civilians from Dmytrivka and Nemishaievo.
The evacuation of Hostelel took place in two columns. The first column of 10 buses, mainly carrying mothers and children, elderly people and people with disabilities, successfully reached the destination point. The second column of four buses was bombarded with mortars by the Russian invaders.
“As a result, a bus driver was injured. A couple driving a Volkswagen car as part of the column also came under fire. Unfortunately, the woman died at the scene,” police noted.
Other civilians continued to advance despite the shelling and eventually arrived at a place of safety.
A reminder that on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, sparking a war. Russian troops bombard and destroy major infrastructure, launching airstrikes on residential areas of Ukrainian towns and villages.
