Truck dumps pieces of raw chicken on Alabama highway

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama (WIAT) – There were some minor traffic delays in Tuscaloosa, Alabama earlier this week after pieces of raw chicken were spilled along a street.

“Hold your nose and drive carefully if driving through downtown Tuscaloosa this morning,” the Tuscaloosa Police Department wrote. on Facebook Tuesday.

According to the Alabama Department of Transportation, a truck carrying chicken waste “lost his charge” on a downtown boulevard sometime before 8 a.m., the raw chicken was strewn across three lanes, with pieces splattered for about a quarter of a mile, police said.

Drivers were urged to exercise caution or avoid the area altogether as the chicken was “sliding some vehicles on the roadway”.

Alabama Department of Transportation crews were dispatched to clean up the spill.

Local drivers who were affected by the spill took notice of the stinky and slippery conditions on Facebook, with one promising to have his car washed “ASAP”. Other Facebook users, meanwhile, were at least able to laugh at the bizarre incident.

“Lord please don’t raise chicken prices to cover this up,” one user wrote.

“Guess the chicken didn’t cross the road,” another joked.
