Two dead as Russian troops shell houses, gas station and Azot factory in Sievierodonetsk

Russian invaders have opened fire in Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk region, 16 times in the past 24 hours, targeting residential buildings, a gas station and the local Azot factory.

This is according to the Telegram channel of the press service of the Luhansk regional military administration, reports Ukrinform.

“In general, the city was in a state of horror throughout the day yesterday. Sixteen times the enemy opened fire on residential areas and infrastructure. This is half the number of bombings recorded in the whole region. Twelve homes, an electrical substation and a commercial district were damaged. Two people were killed,” the statement said.

It is noteworthy that around 6:00 p.m. enemy shells hit one of the last remaining gas stations in the Luhansk region and the nearby railway facility of the Sievierodonetsk Azot Association located nearby. Railway sleepers and grass caught fire, affecting an area of ​​approximately 400 m². Firefighters managed to contain the fire before it reached the plant’s nitrogen tanks.

Seven other houses were destroyed in Rubizhne as a result of Russian shelling, and two in Novodruzhesk. Destruction was recorded in Lysychansk, Orikhove, Hirske and Popasna.

At the same time, the Regional Military Administration noted that 11 enemy attacks had been repelled in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions in the past 24 hours. Eight main battle tanks, 11 armored fighting vehicles and five military trucks were destroyed.
